I've been doing this for over 20 years.
Eighteen of those years, I was leading teams.
Not advising them. Not consulting on the side. Actually in the room, responsible for the work, the people, and the outcomes. I've led design teams in Brazil, the United States, Europe, and Asia. Each of those contexts taught me something different about what design leadership actually requires when the environment isn't built for it.
I'm Brazilian. I relocated to Austria five years ago. Before that, alongside my industry work, I spent eleven years teaching UX at undergraduate and graduate level. That teaching shaped how I think about explaining things. If a framework can't be taught to someone who's never seen it before, it probably isn't a framework yet. It's just a belief.
I've spoken at conferences. I've managed through reorgs, budget cuts, leadership changes, and the full range of situations that don't make it into case studies. I know what it looks like when design is respected and what it looks like when it isn't. I've spent most of my career in the second situation.
That's why I built this.
